THIRD SECTOR
Third sector marketing and PR that builds trust and raises funds
Charities and social enterprises don't just ask people to buy something. They ask people to believe in something, give to it, volunteer for it and speak up for it.
That takes trust, and trust takes clear, consistent and honest communication. With competition for funding ever fiercer, finding and telling the stories of the people behind your community work is what matters.
Korero helps third sector organisations tell their story in a way that respects their values and wins the support they need. We combine strategy, media relations, digital marketing and copywriting to raise your profile, strengthen relationships and back your fundraising ambitions.
The third sector marketing challenges we help solve
-
Many audiences, one story. Service users, families, staff, volunteers, donors, funders and the wider community all need to hear from you in ways that make sense to them.
-
Values-led communications. Your marketing must reflect your principles as well as your goals, and never feel out of step with your mission.
-
Stepping into the spotlight. Some organisations have spent decades avoiding publicity. Growth, capital campaigns and funding pressures can mean it's time to be heard.
-
Doing more with limited resource. Every pound and every hour has to count, so activity needs to be focused, measurable and joined up.
-
Protecting reputation. When trust is your most valuable asset, communicating clearly under pressure matters. See our guide to communicating when threats collide.

Third sector case study
Camphill School Aberdeen: a creative campaign that helped raise £3 million
For more than 80 years, Camphill School Aberdeen had avoided publicity. Then it needed to raise £10 million in 10 years to significantly expand its capacity, and everything changed.
The brief was to deliver a high-impact marketing and PR strategy that respected the charity's deep-rooted values while winning support from a broad range of stakeholders. Gaining the trust of the community, staff, volunteers and parents was critical. We began with one-to-one interviews with potential advocates and detractors, followed by stakeholder workshops, which gave us the foundation for a messaging matrix, audience personas and an integrated marketing strategy.
Over two years, we delivered media relations, digital marketing, social media and paid ads. The charity is now comfortable with regular social media activity and paid advertising, and we've been instrumental in helping raise more than £3 million.
We've also been proud to support Simeon Care for the Elderly and the ARCHIE Foundation.
